Avocado as art?

I've been a really lame blogger! Thanks to everyone checking on me. I'm working on something very big and will reveal very soon. I will be much more regular very soon!

I had a really long and wonderful post this past Friday and right in the middle, Blogger totally locked up on me. ARGH!!! I was really mad because I took the time during my baby's nap when I'm normally trying to relax myself and to waste a whole hour was a bummer.

My post was mostly about this wonderful avocado I opened while making guacamole the other day. Can you believe that we had some folks for dinner from Denmark who had never had avocado before? My hubby thought it was funny of me to take a bunch of pictures of an avocado but it really was the most perfect one I'd seen. Either they're really ripe or really black and mushy. Ok, so this is also my lame attempt to include a photo since I've not got any knitting photos to post.

I will close with my Grey's Anatomy prediction. After watching reruns all summer it came to me that both Dr. Burke and Izzy love to cook and they both seem like passionate people. Remember the Thanksgiving episode where they were alone cooking? My prediction is that eventually they realize they are better for one another than Christina and Burke. Just a prediction! I know Izzy isn't even close to wanting a relationship now. Not that I don't like Christina and Burke together-I actually do. I see a little of Christina of shell's cracking slowly. Then again maybe Burke and Izzy are too similar? Oh well. I love the show. It kind of felt like Lost in the way they were flashing back this past episode. I thought the Burke and Christina flashback was very weird. Can you ever imagine either of them really acting like that now? It didn't seem like either of them.

Ok, enough! Gotta get my kiddo in bed!

Ho Hum

Do you ever feel ho hum about your knitting? I've had two projects I wasn't happy with lately and just needed to take a little break. I've been finishing my second Crusoe sock but just a little here and there.

I did sew some striped pillows for our bedroom seen below. I also painted our office and bathroom. I'm steering away from red and now moving on to a Granny Smith apple green and a steel blue. I love it! Change is good.

Secret Pal 8 is now over. I had a great experience with both of my pals. The pal that had me was Melinda at Slightly Obsessed blog. Thanks for spoiling me Melinda! My final package included a great notebook to keep my knitting notes, some chocolate mint hot cocoa mix, a skein of some awesome Malabrigo marino wool in Oceanos colorway, and some sweet citris candles! Thanks Melinda, you're awesome!

And the pal I got to spoil was Desiree at Knit and Spin. It was great getting to know Desiree. Check out her blog because she's requesting patterns for a 2008 pattern-a-day calendar that her company is publishing!

I'll be better at updating my blog now. I think I just had the end of summer blues. But now I must plow ahead to think about Christmas knitting! Yay!
