Eye Candy Friday

I've been a bad Eye Candy poster but mostly because I always miss cool photography situations. I always think of them after the fact. In honor of all the beautiful crafty pics I see (and covet) in Etsy, I thought I'd try photographing my favorite braclet.

Actual Knitting Post--Kind of

Yes, it's true, this is an actual post about knitting. Here are some purse pics. I made the green purse for my friend Mary for her birthday. It is so very her--bright, fun, and colorful. The pattern is my own. It is the Mackenzie purse. Shameless plug for my site. The black and grey purse is one I'll be debuting on my site soon. I was going for a houndstooth kind of look. The problem with that idea is that white doesn't felt. So, this is what I got. I hope to have this and five other patterns on my site very soon.

For some non-knitting news, a quick update on my family. MiniMe started school. Everyday she comes home and is so chatty about what she did that day. I love it. I wish she'd make some girl friends. All of her closest friends are boys. Seriously, I can't think of one girl she plays with. She isn't a tomboy or anything. There are just so many of my friends who have boys. I was hoping she'd meet girls at school but instead she comes home talking about Dylan and Christian.

MiniB is pooping green poop. I know this is TMO but I can't figure it out. MiniMe did the same thing! Could it be genetic? So far as I know I'm pretty normal in this regard. So is B. It is a neon green! He's also drooling and biting like mad. Unlike his sister, he is a good nurser. I'm terrified of a tooth coming in because he not only bites but he pulls his head back. Ouch. Ok, definitely TMO.

Hope everyone is having a good week. I can't believe summer is passing. Makes me sad yet also glad. I hate the heat. I love the fall. I am hopeful the baby weight will also be better hidden in my fall wardrobe. I started WW online this week. It is AMAZING because if you follow it to the T, you lose weight. I was stuck at my weight for WEEKS, even after running three miles a day. Since I started following the program again, I've lost two pounds. Go WW! Tonight we are going to PF Changs for dinner with B's boss and coworkers. I don't know how I'll pull that off pointswise.

Hilarious. My daughter just picked up a $20 bill on my desk and said, "Oh my, this is beatiful." She then proceeded to say that Andrew Jackson is cute. I hope she means that figuratively rather than literally.

Stay tuned for a redesign of my site. Just like my home, I get tired of the colors and feel the need to mix it up.

Looking for the Silver Lining

Thanks for checking on me. I'm here. After we lost Taylor, I found myself not really wanting to write. I think I just needed time to be offline. I have found a lot of comfort in all the pet stories I received. We're doing a lot better. My daughter has stopped asking when he will be home from his friend's house. I guess she thinks he decided to stay there. How do you explain death to a 2 1/2 year old? His ashes came with a paw print mold they took of him and I couldn't bear to look at it because there was some of his hair stuck on it. I still feel like he's going to come around the corner. I miss my sweet friend But he had some good years and was much loved. And he'll be much missed.

On a happier note, we are talking about a puggle in our future. My husband isn't thrilled with the idea of a new puppy given the baby but I feel such a void without Taylor that I think it would be good. But because I still feel that void, I think it is too soon and I'm just trying to replace Taylor. Any puggle owners out there? Please tell me about them! Good or bad....

I have a lot of knitting news to update about but my laptop crashed and is at the laptop hospital. So, I can't upload any of my pics just yet. It is soooo devastating when your PC crashes, isn't it? I keep thinking of documents that I'm terrified will be lost forever. I was keeping a record of all the funny things my daughter has said so far. No way I'll be able to remember all that again. I also have all my knitting patterns, my blog template, my HTML code for some of my design stuff on my blog, various recipes, my resume, my iPod songs, and some pictures to name a few.

If you have ever visited my company site and submitted your email so you can receive updates about new purse patterns, PLEASE do so again! Here is the link. The laptop doctors might be able to salvage your addresses (I had so many!) but in case they don't, I'd like to have as many as I can again. I will have five new patterns to post in the very near future. Possibly losing the data on my laptop set me back a bit. I guess most of my knitting news centers around these new patterns. I've been hard at work but am pleased with the new patterns. I can't wait to post pictures!
