I'm a Knitter, I Promise

Ok, ok, ok, I keep talking about all the knitting I'm doing and how I'll post pics of my new designs soon and then NOTHING. I don't mean to be so silent but I am knitting more than blogging lately to get these DONE. This is a picture of all my new designs and yarn. I want to have them posted on the site soon. I'm working toward that goal. So bear with my silence. Life is so busy.

On top of regular life things such as work, kids, laundry, bills, etc., we are also closing on a little cabin in Estes Park this week. Here is a picture of the outside of the cabin. It's cozy. It has been a dream of ours for a while now. We going to completely update the inside to get it fixed up to rent as a vacation rental. Anyone out there wanting to get away to a romatic rustic setting?? Anniversary coming up? I'll hook you up. :) Estes Park is absolutely beautiful.

The day I took these pictures there was a herd of elk hanging out in the front. This is not a fake elk! It was seriously in front of the cabin. At one point it had its head in the dumpster. This is a picture of the short walk to the river from the cabin. I thought it seemed like a perfect time to venture out and take a picture of all of these beautiful animals. And then I saw the bull elk. See it? It's mating season and this is its harem. Bull elk aren't so friendly in the fall. So, I high-tailed it back to the cabin. But how cool is that?

Anyway, after we close, we'll spend the weekend painting. The inside is cute but it needs some updating and TLC.

So I'm promising to be a better posting soon. Once all the above is behind me! Stay tuned!

Book Recommendation

I'm still coming down from the high of celebrating MiniMe's birthday this weekend. Will post pics next time.

But I've been meaning to post about this wonderful book I purchased. It's called Deceptively Delicious. I heard it is number one on Amazon's list so it certainly doesn't need my review but for all of you moms out there, this book will change your life! You can actually sneak veggies into foods kids like and they'll never even know it. In our house we have resorted to the old, "eat one more tree of broccoli and two more gulps of milk and then you can be done." Or we physically separate what she has left to eat into a tiny little pile and then watch as she painstakinly and deliberately chews and chews and chews. If that is you, invest in this book!

Vacation, Etc.

I'm a bad blogger. I sound like a broken record. We went on vacation and that is my excuse. We went to Yellowstone and Tetons. It was relaxing and fun. Here are some of my favorite pics. It is hard to get family pictures with all of us (as evidenced by the self-taken pic of the three of us--MiniMe was grouchy and not wanting to be included.). The leaves were really changing and fall was definitely in the air.

MiniMe is going to be three this weekend. I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was pregnant with her and wondering who she was going to be more like--me or B. Turns out she's more like herself, unique and original. She amazes me all the time. We're having a party for her at an indoor playground on Sunday. I know, I know. If you know me, you know how I have a fear of germs at those places and swore I'd never have or go to a party there. After this weekend, I'll have hosted and been to a party at an indoor playground. Having a second child has changed all that. I don't seem to care anymore. Whatever is most convenient for me I say! I'll still be bringing my disinfectant but I'll be on the downlow about it.

On the knitting front, I'm going to be annoucing six new purse patterns in the next month or so. I'm really proud of my newest designs. I think they're fun and feminine. I feel like I keep stalling and saying they're coming out and then something prevents me from doing so. Please trust me when I say that I am knitting and I will be posting some cool stuff soon. I just want to be done with these new designs so that I can move on and start on my son's baby book and knit my kids something.

I've been looking around recently for a place that offers photography classes. As I've been writing in my blog, I really want to be a better photographer. I know I can only go so far with a point and click so it's time to really invest. I've been doing a lot of research. I want a digital SLR camera and want to take some serious classes. I've been taking an online class and that has been so eye-opening. I can't really do the assignments with my point and click but I take in all the knowledge I can. I've decided I want a Canon Rebel XT digital SLR. That has now moved to the top of my wish list. I told this to B and he asked me what happened to the puggle puppy, the Tempur-Pedic mattress, amoire desk, and the piano that I most recently mentioned. That is the beauty of a list--you can have numerous things listed! I'm still mourning the loss of Taylor so I figure I should wait out the puppy a bit. MiniMe won't be ready for a piano for at least a year so I have some time there. The Tempur-Pedic has been on my list since I got married so that isn't going anywhere (and the prices haven't come down as I keep predicting they will). My current desk is really nice and just fine. So Digital SLR is numero uno!

I hope to post some birthday pics this weekend.
